Credo

There are tons of music blogs on the web, many of which offer superfluous amounts and varieties of which one can feel overwhelmed by when picking and choosing. premoRZAdilla is much simpler: hip hop tracks over the beats of three legendary producers--DJ Premier, RZA & J Dilla. Here you will find songs from both signed and (especially) independent artists who attempt to put a new spin on classic beats. Checking for up-and-coming rappers can be a chore when having to sift through amateurish beats, but here the worst you'll get is incredible music with a layer of grating trifle.

So, any rappers out there (or producers with interpolations), I encourage you to submit your trifle to my review, which I will then post if I think it's worth other people's time. On the real: if you know any dope tracks over beats by DJ Premier, RZA or J Dilla, please hit me up. The blog's only intention is to spread good music to a niche audience.

Instrumentals for rappers' use will be posted so long as I don't get shut down. Peace.

Royce Da 5'9" - Royce Is Like

Certainly not new, but I'm not against throwbacks and figure I'd give ya'll an idea of what posts will look like. "Royce Is Like" is one of my favorite reconfigurations of Premo of all time; for one, the beat is ingeniously left in its gestation stage for the first 35 seconds, playfully teasing listeners who just want one of Premo's most renowned beats to start already. Royce name-checks Rev Run and Ice-T with equal amounts of sharpness and smoothness and the whole thing is simply a pleasure to listen to, a long-time collaborator of DJ Premier's harking back to both pay tribute and rejuvenate a classic joint.
